Vivid Visions Photo-Graphics
Frequently Asked Questions
- What's your primary style?
Vivid Visions Photo-Graphics offers posed and candid photographs done in a photo-journalistic style. When possible, available light is favored over artificial (flash) lighting, and exterior settings (gardens, landscapes or seascapes) are preferred. However, Vivid Visions photographer Judy McCleery is prepared to use the lighting and settings the client prefers.
- Do you shoot in color or black and white? Or both?
Because Vivid Visions Photo-Graphics specializes in digital photography, all photographs are made in color. But, the beauty of digital is that ANY photograph can be converted easily to black and white at little or no additional cost.
- Is traditional (film) photography available?
Although Vivid Visions Photo-Graphics specializes in digital capture, traditional film photography is available at an additional cost.
- What kind of input can we have on the direction of the shots? Can we give you a shot list to work from?
Vivid Visions welcomes direction and input regarding the shots you wish to have taken to record YOUR special day. We will incorporate your "must take" list whenever and wherever possible.
- Are you the person who will actually take our pictures? If not, can we meet the person who will be?
Vivid Visions Photo-Graphics was established by freelance photographer and public relations specialist Judy McCleery in order to offer personalized services to all customers. Judy will be your photographer, and will invite you for a consultation very early in your wedding planning process. Then, as your wedding date draws closer, Judy will meet with you again to discuss any specific needs you may have.
- Can we meet any assistants who will also be taking pictures?
Judy currently works alone, but should the client request a second photographer, a meeting prior to the wedding may be arranged with all photographic professionals to be involved.
- What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, etc. be?
Judy currently uses a digital SLR camera with a dedicated flash attached. A single tripod may be used for low light situations. Judy will consult with the Officiate prior to the ceremony to assure that any special restrictions are honored. By its nature, photo-journalistic wedding photography is largely non-intrusive, with the photographer blending into the environment in order to capture most moments without notice from the subjects.
- Do you develop your own film?
Vivid Visions Photo-Graphics performs all digital post-processing in-house. Photographic printing is performed by one of several photo labs, who are selected based on the needs of the print job. If traditional film photograph is requested, the film will be sent to one of several high quality processing labs serving the region.
- Can we buy the negatives from you?
With digital photography, there is no film negative. A disk of the usable proofs is provided as part of the service. These photographic files then belong to the customer for their own use. It should be noted, however, that Vivid Visions Photo-Graphics will retain all original files archived in the native format. These files will remain the property of Vivid Visions Photo-Graphics for various uses, including promotional purposes. The customer may request that certain images not be included in promotional items.
